Jokic's Triple-Double Powers Nuggets to 3-2 Series Lead
Nikola Jokic Scores 40, Adds 13 Assists in Denver's Game 5 Win Over Minnesota
The reigning NBA MVP led the Nuggets to a 112-97 victory over the Timberwolves on Sunday night.
Nikola Jokic put together another dominant performance on Sunday night, leading the Denver Nuggets to a 112-97 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 5 of their Western Conference semifinal series.
The Serbian big man, who received his third MVP trophy ahead of the game, registered 40 points, 13 assists, seven rebounds, and zero turnovers. He shot 14-of-24 from the field and 12-of-13 from the free throw line.
Jokic's performance was particularly impressive considering that he was playing against Anthony Edwards, one of the most dynamic young players in the league. Edwards finished the game with 25 points, but he shot just 9-of-24 from the field and 1-of-7 from three-point range.
The Nuggets now lead the series 3-2 and will return home for Game 6 on Tuesday night. If they can win that game, they will advance to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2020.
